Spring 2005 Edition

Council Candidate: David Ganz

At the present time, I am not a candidate, though that may change shortly.

This notwithstanding, the Council has been very busy working on the budget and it has taken a great deal of time and energy to try and bring in the best budget possible for borough residents at the lowest possible rate. That has meant reviewing the budget, line by line -- cutting, in the case of the police department -- one line to achieve a four dollar ($4) savings -- because it is important. That in turn prevents me, at least at this time, from being responsive.

I have a good record, a strong one to be proud of as a Mayor and as a Freeholder (to which I was just nominated last week for a second three year term). That record includes needed equipment such as new ambulances for the ambulance corps; new fire trucks; new police cars; new garbage and recycling trucks, and more grants from the County and State than during any other comparable three year period in Fair Lawn's history.

If I am fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to continue to serve the people of Fair Lawn, I'll try and be responsive in the Fall, as we've done in the past.
